Hey there loves, hope your weekend went well and that you spent some time doing you, because you my friend, deserve it. Now it's back to the daily grind, have a great week and remember to tackle some goals.
It was an emotional weekend here in New York City, so many feelings and emotions were rehashed as we paid tribute to the ten year anniversary of September 11th. Now as we begin a new day, September 12th, 2011 we move forward. I wouldn't exactly say we move on, but you learn that out of the darkest of days, comes a glimmer of light. But I promise along with every other New Yorker and American, we will never forget.
Over the weekend, I had my first Team in Training Fast Track practice to kickoff the fall season, I am so proud of all the runners that signed up to run a 10k this October, while raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, you guys are so bad ass. My team inspired me and last night I found myself registering for the Philly Rock and Roll Half Marathon, which will take place this upcoming Sunday. I figure if I can run and do the thing I love doing everyday, why not set some more goals for myself. So Philly here I come, it should be a really cool event and I am looking forward to running the historic streets of Philadelphia, along with some other members of Team in Training.
Today's quote is a phrase I am so in love with, I sometimes use it as my daily mantra. You see this quote everywhere these days, but it was first seen in England during World War II, it was released by the British government to boost morale. For a phrase that only includes five words, it is very powerful.
Life gets hard, we have to stay focused, stay calm, even when we are thrown for an unexpected loop. We learn over time that life isn't always fair or easy but we dust ourselves off and we carry on, because life is always moving in a forward motion.
Believe in yourself, dream big, accept the challenge, let go of your fears, trust your gut, be kind to others. When you do these things you'll see amazing things come your way. Believe in your purpose, believe in your journey, the way you live your life is entirely up to you.
Enjoy.
Keep Calm and Carry On.
