Let it be.

Happy Monday Loves, how are my Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes readers doing? I'm sitting on my sister's couch up in North Berwick, Maine, enjoying a delicious cup of coffee and my mini vacation. It's so awesome up here, a big difference from the busy New York City lifestyle I live, being up here, I'm able to slow down, relax and take in the gorgeous sights. This is exactly what I need before the busy two and a half weeks ahead of me, getting ready for my move to France.

I can't wait to share some photos of Maine with you guys, until then enjoy the new week ahead of you. It's your chance to try something new, challenge yourself and take some risks.

We have a winner in the Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes First Birthday Giveaway. Jeans and Tees had over 200 comments from dedicated readers, looking to get their hands on a Longchamp Le Pliage tote bag. Like I've said before, I wish i could give all my readers this amazing bag but there can only be one giveaway winner.
After putting name after name into the random.org generator and hitting randomize, we have a winner.

The winner of the Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes First Birthday Giveaway is Breanna Schebell! Congrats Breanna! Now go pick out your Longchamp Le Pliage tote bag.
You guys should definitely check out Breanna's blog:

Today's quote is short and sweet and a perfect quote to start off the week. This quote comes from spiritual leader, Rumi and  I found this quote on my favorite site Pinterest of course.

It's so important to do what you love, life is to short to wake up one morning wishing you went down another path. Go with your gut, follow your dreams. The happiest people I know are the people that love what they are doing, be one of those people. You'll inspire others to go after what they love.

Go and be great!

Let what you love, be what you do.

Just Never Give Up.

Happy National Coffee Day!

I love Thursday, make it a great one loves. Happy National Coffee Day, one of my favorite days of the year, I will celebrate with a Pumpkin Spice Latte! The weather is still pretty humid and crappy here in New York City, like I said earlier this week, I'm ready for some cooler weather.

When I got home yesterday I had a package from my very thoughtful Manfriend, he sent me a book for bloggers called, Blogging for Bliss. It's such a sweet book and it has so many helpful tips on how to improve your blog. I've been planning a Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes revamp and now I think it's going to come sooner then later.

My New Blogging Book...Thanks Manfriend aka Kyle!

Last night I took a trip to PetSmart and picked up some puppy stuff to send over to Kyle. I actually got nervous while picking out the right supplies, reading everything carefully. Something about having another life in my hands, freaked me a little. I picked up a Golden Retriever 101 book, maybe this book will calm my fears. As I've told my Manfriend, I don't need my dog turning out like Marley from, Marley and Me, haha.

Must Read!

One day left in the Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes First Birthday Giveaway! You have 24 hours to post your comments on the link below, entering yourself in the giveaway. What are you giving away you ask? Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes is giving one of it's lucky readers a Longchamp Le Pliage tote bag! The giveaway ends tomorrow, September 30th at 12pm noon (est) and the winner will be announced soon after. The winner can pick the Longchamp Le Pliage of their choice, 12 color choices in all.

I wish you all the best of luck and I'm serious when I say I wish I could give you all a Le Pliage!

In honor of National Coffee Day, today's quote comes the old Starbucks "The Way I See It" cups. I've used a "The Way I See It" cup quote before and I wish Starbucks would bring this back, what a great way to start your day, a fresh cup of coffee and an inspiring quote. Bring it back Starbucks!

Anyway, this quote on a cup is from Ultramarathon Runner, Dean Karnazes. He's is one of my running idols, who I had the privilege of meeting him last October at the Chicago Marathon. This is one inspirational quote and I have to share it with you.

It's simple, life gets hard but never ever give up.

Enjoy!

Run when you can, walk when you have to, crawl if you must; just never give up.

Exhaust Yourself.

Hey Lovers, happy Wednesday! I hope you guys are having a great week.

Yesterday the Manfriend and I received some great news, our little pup was born, he's one of eight healthy and happy English Golden Retrievers. Our puppy will be ready to go home in a couple of weeks. The Manfriend is already puppy proofing our Limoges apartment. It's crazy knowing there is something living out there that we own and will soon be a major part of our lives. So now I have two countdowns, one until I see the Manfriend and one for ****'s arrival. I don't want to reveal the name just yet.

Our Little Pup **** is in there!

Now I need my lovely readers opinion about my haircut on Thursday. Should I get bangs or shouldn't I? I go back and forth and right now I'm up in the air about it, bangs can be a lot of work but I think they make me look older, then the 18 year old people accuse me of being. So what do you think? Bangs? No bangs? Below I posted a picture of how I want them cut, if I do indeed bring back the bangs. What do you think?

This is what I'd go for. Bangs? or  No Bangs?
Two days left for the Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes First Birthday Giveaway! Want to get your hand on a Longchamp Le  Pliage tote bag? All you have to do is click the link below and comment on the First Birthday Post! This Longchamp tote sells for $145 and it could be all yours for FREE, your chance to win is just a comment away. The giveaway ends this Friday, September 30th at 12 pm noon (est) and the winner will be announced shortly after.

Good Luck and Thanks for your continued support of
Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes.

Today's quote comes from Businessman, Lawrence K. Fish. I found this quote on QuotableCards and it's a keeper. Yesterday the manfriend and I were talking about all the things we want to do in life, some short term and long term goals, some places we'd love to visit, some things we'd like to try to help us become the best versions of ourselves.

You were put on this planet to live, so take advantage of that opportunity. As long as you have air in your lungs, you should try and better yourself. And it's not about the money in your bank account, it's about the experiences you can take with you along your journey. Like I say all the time, make your story and interesting one. I know when I am up there in age, I can't wait to share my stories with my grandchildren, that's my ultimate goal in life, to be the interesting granny with a tattoo of a cupcake on my foot, it's that simple.

Enjoy!

Find life experiences and swallow them whole. Travel, meet people. Go down some dead ends and explore dark alleys.try everything . Exhaust yourself in the glorious pursuit of life.

Be willing to look stupid.

Happy Tuesday Beauties, it's another warm and humid day in New York City, I thought it's fall, where is the cool, crisp weather? I want to wear my sweaters and boots. Have a wonderful day, step out of your comfort zone today.

Yesterday I put in for my last day at work, which made me moving over to France feel even more real. It was sad to make my schedule, highlighting my last day but I know a new adventure awaits. I have to thank Abercrombie and Fitch 5th Avenue for being so amazing to me over the past years, they've supported me through some very hectic times, not many people can say that about their place of work.

I know it's only Tuesday but I am really looking forward to the weekend. On Saturday, I am taking the train up to Boston where my sister is picking me up and taking me to her new house in Maine. I'm looking forward to this mini vacation , spending some quality time with my sister and nephews, enjoying the crispy New England weather and hopefully some of my sister's amazing baked goods. So come on weekend, get here already!

Have you checked out the Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes First Birthday Giveaway? In honor of being on the web for a year, Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes is giving away a Longchamp tote bag! This bag is worth $145 and it could be all your for simply commenting on the post below, just click the link and comment. The Giveaway ends this Friday, September 30th at 12 noon (est).

Good Luck and Thanks for Your Support!

Today's quote comes from Hugh Laurie's character, Dr, Gregory House from the television show, House. I didn't hear this quote on the show, I saw it as a quote my sister posted on her Pinterest, under her "Words to Live By" board and I fell in love with it.

I believe in dreaming big, taking risks, following your heart and taking the less traveled path. I also believe you should be humble during the process, you can't take yourself to seriously or you'll never get out alive. You have to accept that they'll be up and downs but if you go into every one of life's challenges with a smile on your face and a sense of humor, life won't seem all the bad. Let go and live.

Enjoy!

If you aren't willing to look stupid, nothing great is ever going to happen to you.

Trust your gut.

Hey there Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes Readers, here's to a delightful Monday! How was your weekend? I hope you had a great one, filled with a new adventure or two. I had an awesomely productive weekend and got a ton of stuff done, only 26 days until I'm off to France, I have to get cracking on a lot of things.

The major project this weekend was finding a dress for Kyle's brother's wedding. Well, after searching high and low, trying on dress after dress, I still haven't found one I'm in love with. I'm seriously running out of time, it's 13 days away, nothing like waiting until the last minute.

I may not have found a dress but I did find a lot of other great clothes to take with me to France. I've been buying more blacks, skirts,  boots and flats, I'm going to try and pull off the whole "Parisian Chic" thing. We'll see how that goes!
I also finally set up my Etsy shop this weekend! Now you can purchase some of my quotable creations. I hope you check the site out, maybe something will catch your eye. If there is a quote that you'd like me to make up for you, just send me the desired quote and I'll send you the creation!

But by far the biggest highlight of the weekend came early this morning. My Manfriend sent a deposit to a dog breeder to secure us a little boy puppy from a new litter of English Golden Retrievers! The breeder is in France and the Manfriend has been communicating back and forth with them over the past two weeks. I can't tell you how exited the both of us are to get the little guy, we're huge dog lovers and our new pup will be the perfect companion overseas and when he's old enough he'll be my running buddy. Now I really can't wait to get over to France. I'll reveal the name once we pick him up, but I'm sure a lot of you guys could figure it out knowing the Manfriend and my history.

There are five days to go in the Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes First Birthday Giveaway! Check out the link below and comment away, entering yourself the chance to win a Longchamp tote bag which sells for $145. The giveaway ends this Friday, September 30th at 12 noon (est).

Good Luck to all of you and you are amazing me with all your comments!

Today's quote comes from the television show, Grey's Anatomy. This show is chock full of amazing quotes and this one caught my attention recently. I am a big believer in trusting and following your heart. Your heart or others may call it your gut, knows what is right for you. So trust it, go with it, follow your heart song, it may take you to places you've only dreamed of.

Enjoy!

No matter how high the stakes, sooner or later you're just gonna have to go with your gut. And maybe, just maybe, that will take you right where you were supposed to be.

Soul Mate.

Happy Hump Day friends, make it a great one! I have to say I was overwhelmed by the love and well wishes I received yesterday from friends and family as Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes celebrated its first birthday. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people.

Don't forget to check out the Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes First Birthday Giveaway. Comment on the post and you'll be entered to win a Longchamp tote bag which sells for $145!!! There's a week and a half left to go in the giveaway, so don't miss out.
Click the link below and comment away.
Good Luck!

Today's quote is from an unknown author, it's one of those quotes that made me smile from ear to ear after reading, because I know I have felt this way about someone. I'm not sure if I 100% believe in soul mates, sometimes I think it's more like chance, that two people meet, the right place, right time sort of thing.

When I met my manfriend, I wasn't looking for him and I sure as hell know he wasn't looking for me. But deep down in the depths of my heart, hidden under the cob webs and cracks, he was there. He was a man I dreamed of, a guy that had what I was looking for in a counterpart, all the facets that would balance me and make us whole.

Sounds a little crazy but I believe that each of us has our idea of this perfect man or woman, that's going to come along, sweep us off our feet, and make your heart feel in ways you never knew existed. I was lucky enough to have the man that I dreamed of, come along during my 22nd year here on this planet, when I met him I knew my life would change in that forever kind of way. Sometimes it's scary to think that I've found the person that I want to spend the rest of my days with but more importantly, it's pretty freaking exciting.

Enjoy!

And then my soul saw you and went, "Oh there you are, I've been looking for you."

Good luck and thank you for all the love over this past year.

Today's quote comes from one of my top three favorite romantic comedies of all time, The Holiday. I could watch this movie every night for a year and not get sick of it. I thought this quote was fitting for Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes first birthday, and I wanted to share it with you .

This blog has taught me so much about myself and I continue to learn more and more everyday. I've learned to be more of a risk taker, I've learned to take more chances, even if I don't succeed, I've learned to laugh more at myself, to worry less and less.  To set more goals and higher standards for myself. I want to become the best me and I know I am the only one who controls that outcome.

I hope that this blog has helped you realize that you deserve the best in this life. I hope you challenge yourself to be your best self. Never take a backseat in your own life. It's your life to live, so live it. Be bold, be brave, go after your biggest dreams and chance down your biggest fears.

Thanks and I love you all.

Enjoy!

You're supposed to be the leading lady in your own life.

Today's quote comes from the band Coldplay and their awesome new song, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall. I am so in love with this new EP from one of my favorite bands. The song can having many meanings, that's what I love about Coldplay, their songs are so relatable to so many people.

To me, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall is about trying your best and giving your all, when it gets hard digging  deep and discovering what you're really made of. Through hard work, dedication, blood, sweat and tears, one prevails. In order to be the best you that you want to be, you have to believe that you are capable of being whatever it is that you want to be. Be you, be great, and believe because you more then anyone deserves the best.

Enjoy

I turn the music up, I got my records on
I shut the world outside until the lights come on
Maybe the streets alight, maybe the trees are gone
I feel my heart start beating to my favourite song

And all the kids they dance, all the kids all night
Until Monday morning feels another life
I turn the music up
I'm on a roll this time
And heaven is in sight

I turn the music up, I got my records on
From underneath the rubble sing a rebel song
Don't want to see another generation drop
I'd rather be a comma than a full stop

Maybe I'm in the black, maybe I'm on my knees
Maybe I'm in the gap between the two trapezes
But my heart is beating and my pulses start
Cathedrals in my heart

As we saw oh this light I swear you, emerge blinking into
To tell me it's alright
As we soar walls, every siren is a symphony
And every tear's a waterfall
Is a waterfall
Oh
Is a waterfall
Oh oh oh
Is a is a waterfall
Every tear
Is a waterfall
Oh oh oh

So you can hurt, hurt me bad
But still I'll raise the flag

Oh
It was a wa wa wa wa wa-aterfall
A wa wa wa wa wa-aterfall

Every tear
Every tear
Every teardrop is a waterfall

-Coldplay, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall
Have a listen yourself and enjoy it!

Quote of the day.

Hip, hip, hooray for Thursday! I don't know about you but this week has been dragging for me, I am definitely happy that it is almost the weekend. I enjoyed some good family time last night with my parents, Kyle, my sister and my nephews. The Manfriend and I went over to my parents house after work to see my sister and her boys before they head home to Cape May, New Jersey. I love being able to spend time with them and I hate that I don't see them enough.

I can't wait to enjoy a nice run after work and maybe some yoga, to get my mind right. Yoga always calms my mind when it's over thinking. Some exciting news, it's official, I am once again coaching for Team in Training, this time I will be coaching the Rock and Roll 10k in Brooklyn this October. This is a Co-Ed race and it will be the first time I'm coaching guys, it should be interesting to say the least. When I sent in my coaching contract it got me thinking, I haven't run one marathon this year, compared to the four I ran last year, what's up with that? So I'm thinking a marathon is in order to finish off the year. I'm not sure which one I'm going to do and I know I have to decide soon because training is right around the corner. If anyone has any suggestions, would you be so kind and let me know.

You have a day and a half left to enter the Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes July Giveaway! Enter to win a pair of awesome TOMS Classic 101 Sunglasses. When you receive a pair of TOMS Sunglasses someone in need will receive the gift of sight, this is an amazing give back. The Giveaway ends tomorrow July 15th at 12 noon and the winner will be announced Saturday, July 16th.

Check out all the Giveaway information below.

 Good Luck!

Last night, when the manfriend and I got home from my parents house we turned on the ESPYS on ESPN (we're such sport's nuts) and that is where today's quote comes from. Kiefer Sutherland was announcing the recipient of the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage and when he talked about Arthur,(A late, great tennis player.) he used one of his amazing quotes. This particular quote gave me the chills and even though it is only four words long, it is so powerful, it moved me.

Right now, I am trying to get my yoga business up and running (which hasn't been as easy as I'd like), waiting to hear where my manfriend will be playing next year, trying to train for upcoming races, practice yoga, spend time on my blog, while working a 9 to 5 as an office lead at Abercrombie and Fitch, it's a little stressful to say the least, I'm not looking for any sympathy from you guys, I choose to be busy. But because I am busy sometimes I get thrown off course of the path I'm trying to take, sometimes life just gets in the way of my vision.

I've realized that the path you choose is never going to be an easy one,a straight shot, things are always going to come up and there will always be bumps along the way. You just have to stay positive and know that it might not go exactly as you planned, it could in fact turn out even better then you've ever thought imaginable. Life has a funny way of testing you and if you work super hard, the reward will be so deserving.

Enjoy!

Stick to your mission.

Quote of the day.

Tuesday please be kind! It's a scorcher here in New York City, it's never fun when the state issues a heat advisory, so please my fellow New Yorkers stay cool.

Last night I put the Manfriend through an awesome yoga workout, I'm getting so much better at teaching, it really gets me excited. I know I'm on the way to becoming a great yogi and like my man Steve Nash says,"if you want to be good, you gotta practice", so I am on the grind practicing flows, and writing workouts down, so I can share them with my clients.

Only a few days left in the Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes July Giveaway! Enter to win a pair of TOMS Classic 101 Sunglasses! You'll be helping someone in need receive the gift of sight, that's a pretty sweet deal if you ask me. You'll have an awesome pair of shades and you will have helped someone less fortunate, that's a win/win!
The Giveaway ends this Friday, July 15th!
Check out the Giveaway details below.

 Good Luck!

Today's quote comes from Persian Poet Hafiz. I found this quote and thought it was just beautiful, I had to share it with you. I have to say I have been very lucky to have found a love such as this with my manfriend and have been blessed with a family that shares this loving quality as well. I life without love isn't life at all.

Enjoy!

Even after all this time the sun never says to the earth,"you owe me." Look what happens with a love like that, it lights up the whole sky.

Quote of the day.

Happy Monday Lovers! I love that it's Monday morning and my routine went smoothly, nothing better. Like I always say, it's the little things in life that I  appreciate, such as a train coming on time. I had a fantastic weekend, I hope the same went for you. I got to spend time with my family as well as the Manfriend's, I got in a great run and taught a yoga class. I've got a busy work week ahead of me, I'm going to take it day by day and try not to stress myself out.

Five more days left in the July Giveaway for Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes, so don't miss your chance to win a pair of TOMS Classic 101 Sunglasses. Just like TOMS Shoes, the TOMS Sunglasses also have a give back, went you receive a pair some one less fortunate will be given the eye care they need, it's a pretty sweet deal. Check out the giveaway details below!
 Good Luck!

The Giveaway ends Friday, July 15th and the winner will be announced Saturday July 16th!

Today's quote comes from the television show, Scrubs. I came across this quote yesterday on Hollies Quotes under the Miscellaneous Love section, it was just the quote I needed, so I thought I'd share it with you.

Right now the Manfriend and I are waiting to see where he will be playing next year, (he plays pro basketball overseas) there are a couple of teams on the radar, and I'm so excited and so proud of him but I'm also nervous as hell. Going overseas is an awesome experience but there are a lot of things that go into living abroad and as you guys have learned I am a constant worrier. So when I found this quote I was reassured, there is no sense in worrying. Instead, we should enjoy what we are doing at this present moment because that's the only thing in our control, and sometimes we can't even control the present.I also know that the love the Manfriend and I have for each other can get through any little hurdles along our journey.

Enjoy!

I usually don't like thinking about the future. I mean, let's face it, you can't predict what's gonna happen. But sometimes, the thing you didn't expect is what you really wanted after all. Maybe the best thing to do is just stop trying to figure out where you're going, and enjoy where you're at.

Quote of the day.

Hey beauties, happy Sunday! So far I'm having a fantastic weekend, I hope it's the same for you. Yesterday, I enjoyed my nephew Jack's 6th birthday party with my family. I love spending time with such a great bunch of people, creating new memories every time we get together, that's what life is all about.

Today I am teaching a yoga class to a group of thirteen year old girls, it should be a lot of fun. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm happy that I am getting the opportunity to teach, because ultimately that's what I want to do. After my class I am looking forward to enjoying a nice Sunday Funday with the manfriend.

Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes July Giveaway is underway, enter with your chance of winning a pair of TOMS Sunglasses. When you receive a pair of TOMS Sunnies you are giving the gift of sight to someone in need, that's pretty freaking awesome if you ask me. The giveaway will run until Friday, July 15th, so don't miss out!!!
Check out all the giveaway entry rules below.

Good Luck!

The quote I picked today is from an Unknown author, I found it fitting since I am teaching a yoga class for a bunch of youngins' today. When you do things in life realize you have people that are looking up to you. So make sure you are a positive role model in a young persons life, you can be very influential.

Enjoy!

There are little eyes upon you, and they're watching night and day. You're the little people's idol; you're the wisest of the wise. In their little minds, no suspicions ever rise. There are wide-eyed little fellows, who believe you're always right. And their ears are always open, and they watch day and night. You're setting an example, every day in all you do for the little ones who are waiting to grow up to be like you.

Quote of the day.

Hey there, happy Friday! I'm excited to get this weekend started, it's going to be a busy one, which will make a great ending to this already amazing week. I hope you have a productive weekend and remember to do something for YOU!

Yesterday, we celebrated my manfriend's birthday, wrapping up our mini vacation down in Long Branch, New Jersey, seeing his family and hanging by the pool. I whipped up a nice steak dinner for the birthday boy and then we met a few of our friends at a local bar, where we enjoyed some beers and great conversation.
All in all it was a great day and I hope that my guy enjoyed himself because I know I had a blast.

This is a real party weekend, we are continuing the manfriend's birthday celebration tonight. He is going to meet me in Manhattan, where we'll grab a bite to eat and see where the night takes us. Tomorrow is my nephew and godson Jack's sixth birthday! I can't wait to party with my family, celebrate Jack and see what kind of cake my awesome baker of a sister creates, I know it's going to be awesome.

With all this partying I have to make sure I get in some solid workouts, working out sets the pace for me to have a positive, fun day. Now that I'll be teaching yoga and also that I'm a running coach, it's important for me to stay focused on my own workouts and goals I've set for myself, because if I don't, I wouldn't consider myself a good coach or instructor, I have to practice what I preach.

Today's quote comes from Richard Bach, author of my favorite book, Jonathan Livingston Seagull. (Definitely check that book out asap!) This is one of the quotes that gave me the chills and I had an "ah-ha" moment after reading. Everyone is searching for their path, their journey, their adventure. We search and search and search but we need to realize that WE control our own path, journey and adventure. It's up to you to make it happen, no one else. Go out and conquer!

Enjoy!

I had always wanted an adventurous life. It took a long time to realize that I was the only one who was going to make an adventurous life happen to me.

Today's quote comes from comedic legend, Gilda Radner. I absolutely love quotes such as this. This amazing quote about life puts things into great perspective. Live life to the fullest, be the best you can be, shit is going to happen in your life that you have no control over, take it all in stride and focus on your ultimate dreams and goals. Make sure you love and that you love for the right reasons. Live, be happy, love, it's that simple.

Enjoy!

Some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity...

Quote of the day.

Happy Tuesday Lovers, I know most of you are getting back to work after the long holiday weekend, my advice to you would be to ease back into the work week and get an extra shot of espresso in your morning latte today.

So I am officially an Aunt to three beautiful boys, the latest edition William Beckett was born yesterday morning and I am so freaking excited that he is here. New Mom and Dad are doing well, and I can't tell you how proud I am of them, they are already awesome parents in my eyes. The joys a child brings to a family is one no words can describe. I am looking forward to seeing Will tonight after work and falling even more in love with the little dude.

After work today I have two days off, I am taking Kyle (the Manfriend) away for his birthday. We are heading to Long Branch, New Jersey, to hang on the beach, celebrate his birthday and have some fun. I'm super excited because we are staying at the Bungalow hotel, I saw this hotel on the Bravo TV show, Nine by Design. From the moment I saw this place I put it on my Bucket List of places to visit. I made the reservation back in January while we were living in Greece, to guarantee us getting a room during the busy season. I will be sure to take tons on pictures of our Bungalow experience, I'm sure it will not disappoint.

Today's quotes comes from one of my favorite Nike commercials, featuring Steve Nash. What's great about this quote is that you can relate it to anything you do in life. Bottom line is that if you want to be good at something, you have to work hard at it.

Everyday I work hard at being a better runner, better girlfriend, better yogi, better blogger, better daughter, better sister, better friend. Some days are more successful then others but as long as I know that I am working hard to be better, I know I am on the right path.

Enjoy!

If you want to be good you got to practice.

I also included the awesome Nike commercial, I hope you dig it.

Quote of the day. + A Tune.

Happy Fourth of July to all my fellow Americans out there. It's such a special day for the USA, remember all the people who have fought for and people who are still fighting for our freedom today. We sometimes tend to forget the sacrifices made for keeping this country free and safe. So today, please remember!

A huge thank you to all the military men in my life. My brother-in-law Chris Perkins (Coast Guard) who is currently deployed, my manfriends best friends Mike Mastrangelo (Army) and Antonio Betulia (Navy), who is also currently deployed. Thank you so much for what you do, it does not go unnoticed and it is greatly appreciated.

I am actually working today, bummer. I am missing my families annual Fourth of July Barbecue, I guess that's life, I'm not going to pout about it. On a high note, my sister-in-law Lia, went into the hospital last night to be induced. That means I'll be meeting my new nephew William later on today. This will conclude William Watch 2011! He's had a long run in his mama's belly but it's definitely time for his arrival. I can't wait to meet this baby and welcome him into the family. He's definitely making Fourth of July even more special.

I am so proud of my brother and sister-in-law, they are going to make amazing parents. I am so excited to see their family grow, it really is such a beautiful thing.

Don't forget to enter the July GIVEAWAY! Jeans and Tee's and Travel and Cakes will be giving away a pair of TOMS Classic 101 Sunglasses! These awesome sunglasses retail at $135 and they could be yours for FREE!

Today's quote comes from the band Five for Fighting and their song, Freedom Never Cries. I thought this song was very fitting for today, the words are so powerful. Like I said earlier in this post, please remember all of those people that have served this country, have lost their lives serving and those who continue to serve her.

Sometimes we take our freedoms for granted. For example, I'm bummed I have to work today, meanwhile there is some 22 year old solider in Afghanistan, being shot at, fighting for my rights to go to work everyday, enjoy my daily Starbucks, my runs in the park, writing this blog and spending time with my family. When you realize things like that, it's puts life and your daily worries into a greater perspective.

Enjoy and God Bless the USA!

I took a flag to a pawn shop
For a broken guitar
I took a flag to a pawn shop
How much is that guitar
I took a flag to a pawn shop
I Got me that guitar
What's a flag in a pawn shop to me?

I Saw a man on the TV
In a mask with a gun
A man on the TV
He had a ten-year old son
I Saw a man on the TV
His son had a gun
He says that he's coming for me

I never loved the soldier until there was a war
Or thought about tomorrow
'til my baby hit the floor
I only talk to God when somebody's about to die
I Never cherished Freedom

Freedom never cries.

I Wrote a song for a dead man
To settle my soul
A song for a dead man
Now I'll never grow old
I Wrote a song for a dead man
Now I'm out in the cold
What's a song to a dead man to me?

I never loved the soldier until there was a war
Or thought about tomorrow
'til my baby hit the floor
I Only talk to God when somebody's about to die
I Never cherished Freedom

Freedom never cries...

You can cry for her
Die for her
Lay down your life for her
Kiss and wave Goodbye to her
Anything at all

You can cry for her
Die for her
Make up your mind to her
Anything at all

There's a baby on the doorstep
Wailing away
There's a baby on the doorstep
Longing for the day
There's a baby on the doorstep
Who'd give his life to take
A flag to a pawn shop
A flag to a pawn shop

May he forget why he is crying some day.
