Hello beautiful lovelies, happy Tuesday! I can't believe how quickly my time here in Greece is winding down, Kyle left for his last game of the year today, I'm sad I can't be there to watch. But it does give me time to get my things in order for my return back to the States next week, since we are leaving for our vacation to Santorini in a few days. (I can't wait!!)

Yesterday's Boston Marathon was amazing, the men's winner Geoffrey Mutai from Kenya broke the world record running 2:03:02, that is the fastest marathon ever run by a man. On the women's side Caroline Kilel also from Kenya won with a time of 2:22:36. It must of been perfect racing conditions up there in Bean Town to produce those ridiculous times. Events like the Boston Marathon make me so proud to be a part of such an awesome sport. 

On a deeply sad note, marathon great Grete Waitz  passed away this morning after her long battle with cancer, she was only 57. She holds the record for winning the New York City Marathon nine times, yes you read that correctly, NINE TIMES! She is a racing legend and was a role model to many young women, proving that you don't have to be a guy to achieve beast status. She will be greatly missed. 

Today's quote comes from President Theodore Roosevelt. I found this quote on a great site called 10K Truth, definitely check it out if you have the time. When I read this quote I found it very fitting and a way for me to pay tribute to the late and great Grete Waitz. It's only through tough work where one can achieve greatness, raw talent can only take you so far. Work hard, believe in yourself, know that it isn't going to be easy but the reward of achievement is the sweetest thing on earth.

It's that time of year people, the NBA Playoffs are upon us and I couldn't be happier. I look forward to the Playoffs like a five year old looks forward to Christmas.  The NBA Playoffs are truly where amazing things happen and I love being able to watch it unfold.  For the last four years the manfriend and I have devoutly watched each series, making it one of our favorite traditions. 

This year is very exiting because the New York Knicks (Go New York, Go New York, Go) are actually in the Playoffs which hasn't happened since 2004, I know they have a tough series against the Celtics but hey you never know what can happen, it is the Playoffs. 

In the Eastern Conference I would like to see any team go to the Finals, any team that doesn't rhyme with Meat, isn't in Miami and doesn't have Lebron James on their roster, so basically any team other then the Miami Heat. I don't know why I am bitter about the whole Lebron James "decision" bullshit, it's not like I'm from Cleveland or anything, I just don't want to see Miami in the Finals.  Perhaps it will be the Bulls in the Championship, maybe the Celtics , I'd be in heaven if it were the Knicks, like I said you never know. All I know is that I will be pleased if any team besides the Heat get there. 

I would love to see the Lakers head to the Finals for the West and I would actually like to see them win, I can't believe those words just came out. I never liked the Lakers, but there is something about a team going for their third championship in a row that kind of turns me on, I guess it's the sports enthusiast in me. Also I would like to see  Phil Jackson who is a legendary coach  go out on top with a three peat, since he is said to be retiring after this year. ( I might be partial to him winning because he bears a striking resemblance to my father, weird)

So we shall see what happens, it's only April 18th and the Championship series isn't until June. Until then I will enjoy each game, screaming at the television,  cheering for the Knicks, putting hexes on the Heat and all the other fun stuff that comes with watching the Playoffs, such as  drinking large quantities of Heineken.

Hey there beauties, happy Monday. I enjoyed a lazy Sunday with my manfriend, now it's back to business. I am running a half marathon in a little over a month, this half is special because I am trying to accomplish a very big goal, qualifying for the New York City Marathon. I know it isn't an easy task but I'm ready to test myself.

Today is a special day in the "Running World", it's the running of the Boston Marathon. I was lucky to run the Boston Marathon last year and it was by far the best marathon experience of my career. I was the most nervous I've ever been before the start of a race but that went away once I started running, the race unfolded perfectly for me. Once I reached mile 23 and the city of Boston was in view I knew I was going to finish, that's when the tears started. Running the Boston Marathon is something every marathoner wants to do and I got the chance to do it. I wish all the runners amazing success as they run the race of their life today. Talking about this race only gives me more motivation to qualify for 2012.

Happy Sunday Lovelies, it's a rainy day in Greece but I plan on making the best of it. Make your Sunday the best it can be and make sure you smile. I'm ready to enjoy a nice day off with my guy at our favorite Mexican spot. I'm recovering from a night out in Greece with Kyle's teammates, let's just say I'm a little hung over.(It happens to the best of us!)
