Have yourself a merry little Christmas.

Happy Friday and happy day before Christmas Eve! I hope everyone has a happy, healthy and blessed Holiday, enjoy every moment of it and remember what this Holiday is all about.

I am looking forward to spending time with family but also wishing the other half of my heart was here with me in New York. Im sure I'll have a few difficult moments this weekend being without Kyle but I know we will be together one week from now, having our own little Christmas. I love you Kyle and our puppy Wooden, even though we are thousands of miles away from each other, I carry you in my heart, you are always with me.

Last night I met up with my brother, sister-in-law and nephew Will to enjoy some Christmas cheer in Manhattan. We took Will to see the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, it was his first trip to the tree and even though he was asleep, plenty of photos were taken to make his first visit a memorable one. After the seeing the tree we headed to one of our favorite Manhattan eateries, L'Express for some yummy French Cuisine. It turned out to be a great night and I hope this will be a yearly tradition with my family.

Today I am super excited because my sister and her family are arriving in New York from Maine, I haven't seen my nephews since October before i left for France and I can't wait to see their cute faces. I've missed them so much, they really light up my life. It will be great to spend Christmas with them and see them happily open their gifts from Santa.

I'm so grateful to be surrounded by family, who I love so much. Again, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, make it a memorable one.

Shooting Machine .

Two weeks ago, I shared with you some exciting news, my manfriend Kyle was selected to compete in the 3 Point Contest, December 29th in Paris for France's All Star Weekend. You can check out that post here, Shooter Take 2.

Last week Kyle shot a promotional video for the the three point contest. He told me it was fun to film and I couldn't wait to see it. Well, it was released yesterday and I was floored, not only was the video awesome, it was also quite funny, I never new Kyle was such a good actor. Maybe after his basketball career ends he'll have a future in Hollywood, haha. Move over Brad, Ryan and George, Kyle is coming for your job.

Check out the video below and let me know what you think. Here's a fun fact, the man dressed as Santa is actually Limoges CSP's Head Coach.

Once again Kyle I am so proud of you, I love watching you achieve your dreams and so do all your fans. Take France by storm December 29th and bring home the gold! Go Kyle!

Kyle and I would also like to send the Fans of Limoges a huge Thank You! Yesterday I received a wonderful comment from Julien, a Limoges CSP fan. It was so nice to read and it really made Kyle and I smile. It is so great how the city of Limoges has welcomed us with open arms and we've really enjoyed our time there. Even though we are really far away from our home in New York,  the people of Limoges do a great job in making us feel part of their community. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

A Promo Kyle and I did for the Limoges Holiday Catalog.

How the Grinch almost stole Christmas.

Hey there my beautiful Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes readers, hope your weekend was fabulous. I can't believe we are six days away from Christmas, it always sneaks up on you like that, no matter how prepared you are.

I had a very festive weekend, that was almost ruined but thanks to my great family it ended up being quite memorable. Saturday night after having a wonderful dinner at my parents house I came back to my apartment, turned on some preseason NBA games, poured myself a glass of wine and decorated my Christmas tree. Even though I was alone, I really enjoyed myself, hanging up special ornaments I've collected from over the years and making sure the tree looked perfect.

I ended my night taking a picture of my first Christmas tree and sending it to Kyle in France, then I was off to bed. I'm not going to lie, what happened next was terrifying. In the middle of the night, I was woken up to the sound of a crash. Startled, I didn't know what was going on, for a quick second I thought I was being robbed. Half asleep, I cautiously came out of my bedroom to see what was going on. My heart sank as I looked across my living room and saw the tree that I had worked so hard on lying on the floor and broken ornaments thrown all over. I picked up the tree but the debris it left behind was overwhelming, I decided I'd assess the damage in the morning.

When I woke up I thought for a moment, maybe it was all a nightmare, I'd walk out of my bedroom and see the tree that I decorated standing tall ornaments and all, well I wasn't dreaming. The scene was ugly, there was broken ornaments everywhere, the star on the top of my tree was lying in the kitchen, more then half of my ornaments were destroyed. I was holding back tears, realizing that people are going through a lot worse in their lives, but it was the sight of my keepsake ornaments in pieces on the floor that drove me over the edge.

My dad came to the rescue, he showed up at my apartment with my signature Starbucks drink knowing that would cheer me up, he also brought wire to secure the tree so I wouldn't have anymore crashes. After he helped me, I stood and looked at my now bare tree, my heart sank the Grinch was really trying to steal my Christmas!

Word got out to my family and what happened next was something of a little Christmas miracle. In one days time I received enough ornaments to decorate two trees, a huge thanks to my Uncle Kevin & Aunt Robin, my mom for making me some wonderful bows and Kyle's parents who gave me a huge chest of ornaments. Last night I went to work hanging my new ornaments with care, cherishing every one I hung and realizing how great family is. As I went to bed I prayed that my tree would stand shining and thank the Lord, when I woke up this morning it was standing tall.

Now this tree and the ornaments that hang mean even more to me. I can now tell my future kids about the Crash of 2011 that almost brought my Christmas to a halt and how my family swooped in and saved the day.

That's what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown.

Happy Friday from New York, I hope you all have a great weekend! I know it's the last weekend before Christmas, so try not to stress out, remember what this season is about. Because I'm still not quite on New York time, I've really been enjoying the early mornings here. I get up fix a pot of coffee, put on the news, browse all my usual sites and watch the world wake up around me, my manfriend and I both love that part of the morning and I can't wait for him to be here in New York so we can enjoy it together.

Last night I had my parents along with my brother, sister-in-law, and one of the loves of my life my nephew William over for dinner. I know I just returned from France and they may have been expecting some French cuisine but I went with a traditional Greek meal, I did live there too. I made a huge Greek salad, roasted my own pita chips, made some spicy grilled chicken strips and sautéd broccoli. The meal was a hit and after my family went home, I realized how much I love to entertain. Since my high school years, I've loved to throw parties, there is something that makes me so happy to see others having a good time and knowing that I helped in process. I messaged Kyle, who was clearly sleeping in France and let him know how much I love entertaining, how it's one of the top 5 things I love to do most. Hopefully, while I'm in New York for the next few weeks I'll get to entertain a little more.

I'm going to venture out into the madness that they call Christmas shopping today, I still have a few more things to pick up. I'm hoping that if I go early enough I'll beat the mobs. I figure I'll go for a run before hand to make me nice and calm for possible run in's with crazy Christmas Shoppers.

This weekend I'm looking forward to putting up and decorating Kyle's and my Christmas tree. I also have two Christmas parties to go to with family, I love this time of year because I get to hang out and catch up with the people that I love most, who I miss so much while I'm abroad. Kyle and I often talk about our future together and we always agree that we can't wait for the time when we are both settled together, close to home, being able to enjoy all the wonderful things that come with this time of year.

Today's quote is from a holiday classic, A Charlie Brown Christmas. I found this quote fitting because as I write to you about Christmas shopping, presents, parties and family, I make it my job not to forget what Christmas is really about. So like I said earlier in this post, don't get yourself stressed out, remember the true meaning of Christmas and if you can't remember Linus will tell you below.

Have a great weekend and enjoy!

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were so afraid. And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

That's what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown.

Live life to express.

Happy Thursday Lovers, make it a great day and be happy it's almost the weekend! It's very wintery looking day here in New York but rather mild, I'm curled up on my man friend's chair enjoying a hot cup of coffee, planning the day ahead of me.

Last night I purchased my first Christmas tree, my dad took me to the local farmer's market and helped me find the perfect tree. I went with a four foot Balsam, I cant wait to put it up in my apartment and decorate it for my guy and I. It really is the simple things like a small Christmas tree that make me so happy in life.

Today's quote comes from an Unknown Author, I found this quote so beautiful and perfect to share over the Holiday season. Not much to explain here, ill let the words of this great quote do the talking.

Enjoy!

Work for a cause, not for applause. Live life to express, not to impress. Don't strive to make your presence noticed, just make your your absence felt.
