Hey there lovers hope this finds you wonderful. My first day back to work went very well, it was really great to be back and see all the familiar faces. Today I'll be taking advantage of this beautiful weather we are having in New York and go for a nice long run tonight, with a half marathon in two weeks and a half ironman in three months I've really stepped up the training and I feel so great.  I learned that surrounding myself around positive people and things makes such a world of difference, it makes it that much easier to go after things you want in life. I only hope that you do the same for yourself, trust me when I say you'll see a difference in your attitude towards things. 

Today's quote comes from Debbi Fields, the founder of Mrs. Fields. I love this women for this great quote and the fact that she makes delicious cookies for a living. I also love quotes such as this because they really get me going, they push me to be better, to not be afraid and to learn how to be the best Meggie I can be. Once you find something you love wether it's a job, a hobby or a person be proactive and dedicate yourself, because loving something is the key to happiness.

Jeans and Tee's Classic Go To Look.

I'm sure you can tell by the name of this blog that a pair of jeans and a crisp t-shirt is definitely my go to look. I live for a great pair of denim and a white v-neck t-shirt, I feel it's a classic, clean look that can never really look bad. Unless the white t-shirt gets a little dingy, if that's the case I toss it. 

People closest to me know that I have a slight addiction to jeans and white tee's. Family has often said that I don't look like myself if I am wearing something else. So I owned it and I'm happy to be a jeans and tee's freak, I own it so much that I named my blog after them to show my undying love.

Tee's


I have a few favorite brands of t-shirts that I can't live without. I love there fit and feel, some are a little more expensive then others but when it comes to a good tee, I chalk it up and pay whatever. 


James Perse classic white v-neck tee, I received my first James Perse t-shirt back in 2006 and I fell in love. It fit me perfectly and it quickly became my go to shirt. I now own numerous James Perse tee's and I always recommend the brand when anyone asks me, what my preference of t-shirt is, since I own quite a bunch. 


American Apparel  Unisex  Tee v-neck, is also up there as a favorite. I love the deep v-neck and I think it looks really sexy on a girl, it exposes just enough without being trashy. I own a few different American Apparel tee's in a variety of colors and even though I love the standard white tee, I also love their heather gray tee, for some reason the cotton feels a lot softer then any of the other colors. 


Abercrombie and Fitch classic fit tee. I've worked for A&F since 2003 and they've never disappointed me in the t-shirt department. Their tee's are snug in all the right places and they manage to turn a basic tee into a sexy look. 


Jeans


Earnest Sewn, I love these jeans, especially the Harlan fit. This classic low rise skinny fit is amazing. They really elongate the leg and look cute with flats, heels, boots or flip flops. I love that you can dress them up or down. 


True Religion jeans are great. I know they run on the pricier side but I felt they were worth the mini investment. I love their straight leg and bootcut fit. Their signature pocket makes your booty look full and shapely. (Helpful for anyone with a tiny bum like myself.) Again these jeans can be dressed up or down. I tend to wear them more casual with a flip flop and comfy tee. 


American Eagle jeans make the list because of their affordable price and great fit. I love the AE classic straight which come in a variety of washes. They are some of the only jeans that I don't have to wear along with a belt. They stay up on my hips and they really are the perfect rise, not to high or to low. American Eagle also has a great boyfriend fit, which is perfect for summer, comfortable, great with flops and a tank.


Celebrities who embody Jeans and Tee's

Jen Aniston always looks great rocking jeans and a white tee.

She takes the classic jean and tee look and adds another classic staple, the black leather  jacket. 

Victoria Beckham,  when she isn't wearing killer heels and mini dresses , she looks great sporting jeans and tee's.

Megan Fox looks cool, comfy and casual in a classic white tee and dark straight leg jeans.

Even Royalty can rep jeans and tee's, Kate Middleton  adds a pair of flat boots to this classic look.

Hello beauties, happy Monday. I had a fantastic weekend and I'm ready for a productive week.  It was great seeing some of my family this weekend and catch up with everyone, I really missed them. As for the team I'm coaching, these women are doing great! I am so proud of their progress and I know they are going to beast their race in a month. 


Today is my first day back at work and I'm excited to get back to the grind that is New York City. I love my city and I've missed it so much, I'm also happy to see my co-workers. My wonderful manfriend set me up for the day, making me a yummy breakfast and packing a nice lunch for me and treating me to a Starbucks, what did I do to deserve a guy like this? 


Tonight I am really looking forward to the Bethenny Ever After Season Finale, but I'm also a little sad that it is ending. I love this show, I love her message and oh yea, I love Jason. I can't wait to curl up on my couch tonight with the manfriend and a Skinnygirl Margarita and see how this season ends.

Happy Sunday and a very, very Happy Mother's Day! There are so many great women in my life who are amazing mother's but for me there is no one quite like my mom. She's my  best friend and knows me inside and out. She truly believes in me and in all I do and is always there to give me that extra boost of confidence or push in the right direction. Without her I wouldn't be who I am today and I can only wish that I could be half the woman she is.  And to all the other mothers out there, remember that you mean so much to so many. I love you all and think that the job of a mother might be the hardest there is. I hope you all have a Happy Mother's Day.

I can't wait to get this Sunday started, right now I am enjoying a cup of coffee in my new apartment, listening to the birds chirp in the park across the street before I go out and run with my team, such a great start to my day. Later today I am going to brunch, with my family and I can't wait to see everyone and be around the great moms in my life. I hope everyone has a great, fun and productive day.

Happy Saturday my beautiful readers, I'm so excited for the weekend. The weather is amazing here in New York and I'm ready to enjoy it. Last night was so great, the manfriend and I went out to dinner with my brother and sister-in-law, it was a fun night out and I cherish moments like that. After dinner Kyle's brother and fiance` came over to check out our new place, and again it was a great time with good conversation. All in all it was an awesome Friday night. 

This morning I'll be coaching my Team in Training running ladies and like I've said before, I'm so proud of them and what they are doing. I'm also very excited because my sister and my nephews are coming up from Cape May, New Jersey today, I haven't seen them in months. So the weekend is really shaping up to be a fantastic one. 

Today's quote is a freaking great one! It's comes from entrepreneur, Sir Richard Branson. This guy definitely knows what's up and I really love his outlook on life. I agree with him that is it most certainly better to be a "Yes Man", then to be someone who says no to life.

How to: Santorini (Part Two)

Here is my part two of all you need to know while visiting Santorini, Greece. Yesterday I shared How To: Santorini (Part One), where I went over our travel, hotel accommodations and how we explored Fira, the largest city in Santorini. 

Today I will tell you all about our exploration of the whole island, with the help of our rent-a-car. We visited sites such as the Red Beach, Black Beach and the town of Perissa. 

Exploring the Island

On Easter Sunday, after our complimentary breakfast from the hotel which was brought to our terrace (Lovely!), we decided to hop into our rent-a-car (Which I highly suggest renting one, at least for a day, so you can see all of Santorini, we used Hertz.) I wanted to see the beaches, so we headed in the direction of the Red Beach, which was about fifteen minutes outside of Fira. The great thing about Santorini is that the island itself isn't that big, so it really enables you to see everything. When we pulled up to the Red Beach it was very busy, it was a main tourist attraction and there were tour buses and cars lining the entrance. I couldn't wait to see what was awaiting us, being from New York I've only really seen light sandy beaches on the East Coast, so I was really excited to see a beach of red sand. 


It was a little bit of a climb to get to the beach, we literally had to walk along the side of a cliff to get to our destination. I unfortunately wore the wrong footwear, I was sporting flip flops which weren't functional for the rocky surface we were walking across. So my suggestion would be to wear comfortable sneakers, if you ever plan on taking a trip to the Red Beach. When we got to the other side of the cliff, I lost my breathe. What I was looking at was so incredible, I was so happy I had my camera to capture it. 


The Red Beach is red due to the red lava that the Santorini volcano left behind. The color of the deep red sand and light aqua blue water is just gorgeous. We made our way down to the beach from the cliff, so we could really capture the moment. The sand felt like no sand I've ever felt before. It almost felt spongy like a running track and my feet fell in love instantly. The water was a little cooler then I thought it would be but it felt amazing  while standing in the Grecian sun. This is definitely a must see spot on the island.

After the Red Beach we headed towards the town of Perissa, where the black beach is located. We were told that Perissa is a pretty popular spot, lined with restaurants and Greek tavernas. It was a ten minute trip from the Red Beach to Perissa, and when we entered the town it felt more tropical then any other place we've visited in Greece. This town was hopping and everyone was out and in the coffee shops that were on the beach. Yet again, I couldn't believe the beauty of this beach. It's amazing how this small island can hold so many treasures. 


The Black Beach was a lot larger then the Red Beach and there were more locals then tourists. The sand was so smooth, I was telling my manfriend that I wish we could have that exact surface as the flooring in our apartment, so that I could always feel close to the sea. The water was so clear and the sun shining down made everything sparkle. We walked along enjoying the sound of the crashing waves, seagulls and kids playing in the surf.

We were ready for a coffee and a light snack, amazingly enough we found a place called Coffee and Snacks. We each ordered a coffee, then ordered a fruit plate and a fruit a yogurt bowl. What our waiter brought out was heaven before my eyes. The coffee was delicious of course and the fruit plate and bowl were out of this world yummy. It was so nice to enjoy so treats and look out at the beauty that it the Black Beach.

After we fueled up we drove about three miles north to another part of the Black Beach, here there were a lot more hotels and tourists. It was weird seeing groups of Americans after being away for so long, hearing English was really comforting to say the least. This beach was gorgeous, we took a seat on the sand and relaxed. The sun felt amazing, I couldn't tell where the sky ended and the sea started, the blues looked like something out of a painting. A this moment, I truly felt blessed to be able to experience this.

Later in the day, after relaxing in our suite for a bit, we headed into Fira for some dinner. Before dinner we stopped at this really cool spot called Franco's. It was a bar over looking the caldera, set up with rows of lounge chairs and classical music. It was really a perfect place to start the night. The service was great and the view unreal. We enjoyed a glass of wine and our usual great conversation.

At the conclusion of our wine drinking, we were ready for a fantastic dinner. We walked a few meters from Franco's and discovered Niki's a Greek Taverna. We sat on the roof deck and again took in the marvelous view. 


We decided since it was Easter Sunday that we'd order some lamb with our dinner. Along with the lamb, we ordered saganaki (of course), a greek salad and a shrimp dish, along with some more Greek wine. The food was delicious, as everything has been in Santorini. The lamb was roasting out front of the restaurant for everyone to see, so we knew it was fresh. The shrimp was huge and cooked perfectly. The Greek salad was so yummy and you can never go wrong with some saganaki.

Another day in Santorini came to a close and it was so memorable. It was an Easter to remember that's for sure. I was sad that we couldn't be with family, but we had each other to enjoy this special day.

I had a nice Cinco de Mayo, with the manfriend and friends, I enjoyed some yummy fajitas and Skinnygirl margaritas of course.
