The Thrill.

Happy Tuesday Beauties, it's a rainy day here in Maine. I'm enjoying some yummy coffee with my sister and catching up on the latest episode of Pan Am, I really love this show. Hope you have a great day loves, make it a fabulous one.

Yesterday, my sister and I enjoyed a nice day of shopping and dining out. We explored the town of Portsmouth, which is adorably quaint. There were so many cute shops, and I didn't leave empty handed, I picked up a really cute dress. We also enjoyed some brunch at a great spot called, Colby's. After Portsmouth, we headed to Kittery, where we shopped some of the awesome Outlet stores, I love bargain shopping. Picture to come!

Today' we are going to bake and cook and bake some more. Perfect for a rainy day. I am really enjoying my time up here, and I am being honest when I say, I'm sad that I have to head home tomorrow.

Today's quote is from an Unknown Author, it was found on HolliesQuotes under the "Life" section. I love quotes such as this. You can't be afraid, to take risks, to live the life you've always dreamed of living. Fears are natural but when you push past the fear, the results are amazing.

Enjoy!

Sometimes the thrill of soaring must begin with the fear of falling.

Soul Mate.

Happy Hump Day friends, make it a great one! I have to say I was overwhelmed by the love and well wishes I received yesterday from friends and family as Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes celebrated its first birthday. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people.

Click the link below and comment away.
Good Luck!

Today's quote is from an unknown author, it's one of those quotes that made me smile from ear to ear after reading, because I know I have felt this way about someone. I'm not sure if I 100% believe in soul mates, sometimes I think it's more like chance, that two people meet, the right place, right time sort of thing.

When I met my manfriend, I wasn't looking for him and I sure as hell know he wasn't looking for me. But deep down in the depths of my heart, hidden under the cob webs and cracks, he was there. He was a man I dreamed of, a guy that had what I was looking for in a counterpart, all the facets that would balance me and make us whole.

Sounds a little crazy but I believe that each of us has our idea of this perfect man or woman, that's going to come along, sweep us off our feet, and make your heart feel in ways you never knew existed. I was lucky enough to have the man that I dreamed of, come along during my 22nd year here on this planet, when I met him I knew my life would change in that forever kind of way. Sometimes it's scary to think that I've found the person that I want to spend the rest of my days with but more importantly, it's pretty freaking exciting.

Enjoy!

And then my soul saw you and went, "Oh there you are, I've been looking for you."

Quote of the day.

Hey Loves, happy Monday! What a weekend it was here in New York. We braved Hurricane Irene, I'm so thankful that the storm wasn't to  severe. Because of the storm, I evacuated to my parents house early Saturday morning, they are up on higher ground in Staten Island, so I felt safe. I enjoyed a camp out with my family for the weekend, which was full of movie watching, magazine reading, wine drinking and enjoying some yummy food. I have to admit, I was getting a little stir crazy, I think mainly because I was without my precious Starbucks for two days.(Haha!)

Well now it's back to usual, I have a Starbucks in my hand, I'm blogging to my loves and it's going to be a great Monday. Due to the storm, the buses and subways were running on an irregular schedule, because of my long commute from Staten Island, I decided to take a personal day from work. So with today off, I plan on being super productive, getting in a run, doing some things around the apartment that I've wanted to get done, and a trip to Barnes and Noble to check out some new reads. I hope you have a great Monday, you deserve it, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Lets start Monday off with a strong quote, which can set the pace to have an even stronger week. The quote is from an Unknown Author, which stinks because someone definitely deserves some credit for these great words. Life can get hard but you have to know that you can get through any obstacle or challenge that stands in your way.

Above is a picture of my manfriend, his senior year in college. This picture was taken right before he and his team were eliminated from the Big East Tournament. I used to look at this picture and it would break my heart, knowing how terrible it must of felt for my guy at that moment, on that court. But he's proven to me over and over again how strong he is and that nothing can stand in his way and that sometimes one gains strength in the hour of defeat. Now I look at this picture every now and then and grab strength from it. If I could be one tenth as strong as him, I'd be able to conquer anything.

Be strong, surround yourself with people who believe in you and your dreams and never give up. You are stronger then you think.

Enjoy!

You were given this life because you were strong enough to live it.

Quote of the day.

Happy Monday Beauties, hope your weekend was wonderful. My weekend of no set plans turned out to be a busy one, full of fun. Now it's back to the weekly grind, until next weekend, at least it's a beautiful day here in New York City, a nice change from the rainy weather we've been having. Be the best you this week, you owe it to yourself, step out of your weekly comfort zone and try something new.

Yesterday would have been my Half Ironman debut in New Hampshire, and even though I was a little bummed that I bowed out, I knew it was the right thing to do in retrospect. I wasn't ready to conquer such a beast and felt I would be slighting the sport and it's athletes if I attempted the event half prepared. I don't know when I'll do my first Half Ironman, all I do know is that when I do, I'll go in knowing no matter if I finish or not, that I was prepared. So congrats to all the triathletes that competed in the Timberman 70.3 yesterday, you are all bad ass and I admire your strength, courage and beastliness.

One week down and a short Nine weeks to go until I'm in France with my Manfriend. Who am I kidding nine weeks isn't that short but I am trying to remain as positive as possible. I have a lot to focus on here in New York the next two months, so hopefully that will help pass the time until I'm in the arms of my love, I miss him terribly.

Today's quote comes from an Unknown Author and I thought it was a great quot to start the week off. On your journey to becoming to best you that you can be, you are going to come up against obstacles and challenges that might be a little scary. Don't be afraid to try, to risk, to dream and explore. You aren't always going to succeed but life is about experience, so take that chance. Come from a place of "yes" rather then a place of "I can't", your life will be a lot more fulfilling.

Enjoy and Conquer!

Be afraid not to try.

Quote of the day.

Hey there Loves, have a great Wednesday. The rain has finally commenced in New York City and we were greeted by a beautiful crisp August morning. This weather makes me want to lace up my Nike running shoes and run the park, I think I will do that tonight after work.

I have thank my brother and sister-in-law for having me over for a lovely dinner last night. They know that I hate the feeling of being alone in my big apartment so invited me over, I think this can be a weekly outing. No worries Brendan and Lia, I'll bring the wine.

The Manfriend gave me a virtual tour of apartment last night, and I love it. I can't get over how big it is. I am going to send him a care package this weekend, filled with a few items that can make the French apartment feel like "Our" French apartment.

Today's quote is a great one about a crazy little thing called, Life. The quote is from an Unknown Author and once again I found it on Pinterest. Your life is the only thing you have ultimate control over. So my advice to you is to enjoy the ride, have fun, stress less, laugh more, test yourself, try things you've always wanted to do. Remember we only get one admission ticket on the roller coaster of life, don't let it expire.

Enjoy!

Life is like a roller coaster.
It has its ups and downs.
But it's your choice to scream or enjoy the ride.

Quote of the day.

Good morning you beautiful babies, here's hoping that you have an amazing Tuesday ahead of you. I am back to work today and I'm looking forward to it, work is a great way to stay busy and making some money is always nice.

Yesterday  enjoyed my day off with my sister, sister-in-law, cousin and nephews. We had a yummy lunch  and laughed our butts off as we watched family movies from the late 80's, man I  was a chubby kid! We then did some shopping. (I love some good ole' retail therapy.) Our shopping outing resulted in us all splurging and buying some matching Michael Kors watches, you have to do things like this every once in awhile. I absolutely love my new watch and I know it's a timeless piece that I'll have for a long time.

The Manfriend is getting himself settled in Limoges, France. He got into our French apartment yesterday and I was excited by his description of our new overseas home. We'll be living in a beautiful three bedroom apartment, this made me so happy, knowing that we can have people come visit and we'll be able to accommodate them. So far, so good in France. I do miss so much already but like they always say, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Today's quote is from a cute print I found on Pinterest and had to share it with you. I don't know who the author is and I wish I could give them credit, where credit is due.

Sometimes we get so caught up in life that we forget to enjoy some of the sweeter things. You owe it to yourself to live the life you've dreamed of, remember to take time for yourself because you deserve it just as much as anyon else.

Enjoy!

Find the Time:
The time to read,
to smell the flowers,
to paint your dreams,
to have coffee with a friend,
to learn a new craft,
to write a letter,
to bake a surprise cake,
to go somewhere special,
to really be the person you love,
or even to do nothing for a while...

Quote of the day.

It's a beautiful Tuesday here in New York City and I plan on having an super productive day. I hope you have an amazingly great day as well, wherever you are in the world. I have some pretty exciting things going on right now in my life , and as much as I am excited , I am also very nervous. (So typical!) My awesome manfriend assured me that everything will work itself out and can be really great for our journey together. I will share the big life changing news in a few days, let's just say things need to be finalized.

After work today I am really looking forward to a great run, my next marathon is less then 12 weeks away. I am running the Nike Women's Marathon with Team in Training, raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This marathon is big for me, it's something I need to do for myself, prove to me that I am capable of achieving a long time dream, qualifying for the Boston Marathon. It's great that I've set a personal goal and helping people at the same time, it's very rewarding.

Countdown to the McCarrick family vacation in LBI: 4 Days!  Please LBI hurry up and get here, I need to be relaxing in the sand with my family. I hope these next few days are kind to me. PLEASE BE KIND! PLEASE BE KIND!

Today's quote is from an Unknown Author, I found it on HolliesQuotes.com. I've said this before about a few quotes which proves how awesome a great quote is, I saw this quote today and it was exactly what I needed.

You can't be scared of what life throws at you, enjoy the process. Don't be afraid to try something, what's the worst that can happen? So what if you fail every once in awhile, failure makes you appreciate the good things even more when they come along. Trust your gut, give all of yourself.

Enjoy!

“Its impossible,” said pride. “Its risky,” said experience. "Its pointless,” said reason. “Give it a try,” whispered the heart.

Quote of the day. (Thursday Thoughts.)

There is something I absolutely love about Thursdays, I think mainly it's the anticipation it brings that the weekend is near, which is always a good thing. Today is yet another scorcher in New York City, just lovely, stay out of the heat if you can loves.

Last night after a long day of work and a great yoga session that lasted until 7:30pm, I decided to cook the manfriend and myself some homemade chicken parmigiana.I have the book, Julie and Julia, to thank for my current desire to cook. Julie and Julia is about Julie Powell's journey to cook every recipe in Julia Child's, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Julie Powell's story in this great book is very relate able to my current situation. I love when you fond a read that makes you realize you aren't the only person who is going through some soul searching.

Anyway, back to me cooking some yummy chicken parm, it actually turned out really well. I knew this because my Manfriend was in a food coma after devouring his plate. I'm learning that I really, really like to cook, not in a domestic, lady in the kitchen, kind of way, I like the challenge of tackling a recipe. So cheers, to finding a new interest.

Countdown to the McCarrick Family Vacation in
Long Beach Island: 9 Days!
Yay, another day closer to a week down by the seashore! Yesterday, I ordered some new bathing suits from Victoria's Secret, I'm surprised my bags aren't packed already. I really can't wait to have my feet in the sand, I desperately need an escape from the craziness that is, New York City.

Today's quote is from an Unknown author, I found it on HolliesQuotes, in the "Life" section. This is a pretty cool quote, I had to share it with you. Life is a funny thing, it never goes as planned. The best thing we can do is never give give up. Keep going after you want in life, even if you get knocked on your ass more times then you'd care to. Some "life" bumps and bruises make the ride more exciting, especially when you reach one of your desired destinations.

Enjoy!

I finally learned what life is about: hanging on when your hearts had enough and giving more when you wanna give up.

The quote I picked today is from an Unknown author, I found it fitting since I am teaching a yoga class for a bunch of youngins' today. When you do things in life realize you have people that are looking up to you. So make sure you are a positive role model in a young persons life, you can be very influential.

Enjoy!

There are little eyes upon you, and they're watching night and day. You're the little people's idol; you're the wisest of the wise. In their little minds, no suspicions ever rise. There are wide-eyed little fellows, who believe you're always right. And their ears are always open, and they watch day and night. You're setting an example, every day in all you do for the little ones who are waiting to grow up to be like you.

Today's quote is from an unknown author and was told to me by the manfriend last night, over some deep dinner conversation. It was just the quote I needed at that moment, I literally stopped Kyle mid sentence and asked him where he heard that quote. This small quote packs a ton of power and I have to share it with you. If you want something in life, you have to fight for it, work your ass off the get where you want to be, push past obstacles, put up with crap to get where you want to be. Go for it, it's your life, live it with passion.

Enjoy!

Quote of the day.

Happy Sunday and a huge Happy Father's Day to my Pops! He deserves more then a day of appreciation but my family will make sure this day is extra special. I love him so very much and I am so lucky to have him in my life. Also a Happy Dad's Day to all the other fathers out there, you have a hard job and you do it well. Enjoy the day.

Happy Father's Day Dad <3

Today I'm hosting my first get together at Kyle's and my apartment, a Father's Day Brunch. I'm excited to have my family over to enjoy the day but I am sad that Kyle isn't here to be a part of it. He's been gone a day and I really miss him. I have all the food ready to cook, champagne for Mimosas and some other goodies. I am just praying for it to go smoothly. (Pictures definitely to come.)

William Watch 2011: Day 6! Sorry for not reporting on Will's status yesterday. Still no sign of him, but I really believe he'll be here any day now. The excitement is really building up and I am really hoping Will gets here before I leave for Chicago on Friday, I need to see this little babe.

Today's quote is for all the fathers out there, I found it on a Fathter's Day website and it's from an Unknown Author. I thought this was such a great quote and I had to share it.

Enjoy and Happy Dad's Day!

I never had a chance to choose the man to be my Dad -

Quote of the day.

Hey loves, hope it's a great Thursday for you. A big congrats to my Godson and nephew Jack, it's his last day of Kindergarten today! I am so proud of the little dude and I can't believe he will be in starting 1st grade in September. Also I am giving tons of hugs and kisses to my other nephew Benjamin, he hasn't been feeling so well the last few weeks, and I know he'll be back to his goofy little self soon. I love them both so very, very much.

William Watch 2011: Day 3! I'm beginning to sound like a broken record when I say, no sign of little Will yet. I commute into Manhattan with my brother every morning, and it's so funny to see how excited he is for the little man to get here, yesterday we debated over hair color, I'm thinking light brown. Hopefully we'll find out soon.

I borrowed today's quote from my friend Nathalie, when I saw it I immediately told her that I'd be borrowing it. It's from an unknown author and it is freaking awesome.  It's a quote about how dreams are born and how journeys begin.

Enjoy!

It happens all the time. Curiosities become obsessions. Outings become overnighters. Pastimes become passions. This is how journeys begin.

Quote of the day.

What a beautiful Tuesday here in New York City, I am ready for a great day. I'm really looking forward to a nice run and some yoga after work, it helps get me through the day. I'm just two and a half months away from my first Half Ironman Triathlon, and my training is in full gear.

Yesterday I had an interesting run, I was enjoying a nice three mile tempo run in the park, during my final mile I was knocked on my butt by a German Shepard. This was rather embarrassing, to say the least but because of the embarrassment my last mile was in fact my fastest. Oh, the things I've encountered on my daily runs, I should probably write a post about these encounters, I think you would find it very entertaining.

I hope your Tuesday is awesome, try and do something that makes this Tuesday June 7th special. Today's quote comes from an unknown author, I found it on HolliesQuotes.com, in the "Life" section. This is a fantastic quote. Bottom line is, believe in yourself, what you are worth, and know that you deserve all the best in life. Do not be affraid to take chances, it's ok to be scared every now in then. Go for it.

So True!

Enjoy!

It's not what you are that holds you back, it's what you think you are not.

Quote of the day.

One more day and then it's the weekend for me, if you can't tell I'm quite excited. Tomorrow the Manfriend and I head to Wichita, Kansas for a wedding, it's going to be a great weekend. I hope your Thursday is a great one, make it productive, do something for YOU!

I know this sounds horrible but I didn't get in a run yesterday and it was National Running Day. The day and the heat caught up with me, I promised myself I would hit the pavement extra hard today to make up for it, I don't want to let my running community down.

Today's quote is a simple one from an unknown author which I found on HolliesQuotes.com. We all want to live happy fufilling lives, but we know this isn't just handed to us, we have to work for it. Everyday an effort must be made to reach that place that we've always dreamed of, that place where you are the you that you've worked hard to become. Believe and enjoy the journey to your "Happy".

Enjoy!

Happiness is a choice that requires effort at times.

Today's quote was found on Hollies Quotes, under the "LIFE" section (My favorite section.) and it's by an unknown author. This is a great message, we all need to realize that we control our future, our life and our path. I know some things can get in the way but if you have the drive and have the dreams, you can seriously go, do and be anything you want, when you know this, all things are possible.
Enjoy!
My will shall shape my future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze. My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny.

Quote of the day.

Happy Saturday and Happy Weekend beauties! Sorry for the lack of posts the last two days, blogger was preforming some maintenance on the site, now it's looking like they are finished and I can post my little heart out. I'm really happy the weekend is here, this past week was very busy and I'm looking forward to relaxing a little bit.

Yesterday I stopped by Sprinkles Cupcakes in NYC for their opening day and even though I waited on line for forty minutes (yes, I was one of "those" people) it was well worth it. I'll be posting my Sprinkles NYC experience very soon.

I have some great stuff on tap for Saturday, starting with coaching so very amazing ladies from Team in Training this morning, they are all doing so well and I a extremely proud. They push me to be better and as you all know that's my ultimate goal, be the best Meggie I can be. So I am truly thankful for them.

I also plan on getting some apartment stuff done today, looking for accent pieces, hanging some pictures, making our place feel a little warmer. I am also going to go get a new phone (Hallelujah!), I am not sure if I am going to stick with the iPhone or get this cool droid my brother just purchased where you have total access to blogger. I have to say even though I've always had the iPhone, I think I am leaning towards the droid. I guess we'll see what happens once I am in the store. And I am going to warn you that I've been obsessing over a pair of Ray Ban Jackie Oh's and I may have to purchase them, yes I have a serious addiction, please don't judge me.

Today's quote comes from the HolliesQuotes website,  it's from an unknown author. I found this quote very fitting to start the weekend off, I really love it's message. I hope you like me try to live your life to the fullest everyday, even when that day sucks, go for it. Find your path, follow your heart and great  things will come your way. Have a great weekend.

Enjoy.

You wanna know what living life to the fullest actually is? It's waking up on a Monday morning with no complaints. It's knowing you always deserve to laugh. It's doing what feels right no matter what. It's doing what you want to, no matter how stupid you look. It's about being yourself, cause no one can tell you you're doing it wrong.
