Happy Fourth of July to all my fellow Americans out there. It's such a special day for the USA, remember all the people who have fought for and people who are still fighting for our freedom today. We sometimes tend to forget the sacrifices made for keeping this country free and safe. So today, please remember! 

A huge thank you to all the military men in my life. My brother-in-law Chris Perkins (Coast Guard) who is currently deployed, my manfriends best friends Mike Mastrangelo (Army) and Antonio Betulia (Navy), who is also currently deployed. Thank you so much for what you do, it does not go unnoticed and it is greatly appreciated. 

I am actually working today, bummer. I am missing my families annual Fourth of July Barbecue, I guess that's life, I'm not going to pout about it. On a high note, my sister-in-law Lia, went into the hospital last night to be induced. That means I'll be meeting my new nephew William later on today. This will conclude William Watch 2011! He's had a long run in his mama's belly but it's definitely time for his arrival. I can't wait to meet this baby and welcome him into the family. He's definitely making Fourth of July even more special. 

I am so proud of my brother and sister-in-law, they are going to make amazing parents. I am so excited to see their family grow, it really is such a beautiful thing.

Like I said earlier in this post, please remember all of those people that have served this country, have lost their lives serving and those who continue to serve her.

Sometimes we take our freedoms for granted. For example, I'm bummed I have to work today, meanwhile there is some 22 year old solider in Afghanistan, being shot at, fighting for my rights to go to work everyday, enjoy my daily Starbucks, my runs in the park, writing this blog and spending time with my family. When you realize things like that, it's puts life and your daily worries into a greater perspective.

What an amazing holiday weekend I'm having, I hope you are having a great one as well. It's a rainy day in New York City, but that's not going to stop me from having a productive day. I'm thinking maybe I'll bake something today and work on our office space in the apartment. (This is a must now.)

Yesterday, I met with the owner of the salon with the yoga studio attached, we talked about the possibility of me running my yoga practice out of that studio. The meeting went so well and I am excited about my future there. I will definitely keep you posted, big things are about to happen. I have to thank my friend Noel, for setting me up with this interview, I'm forever grateful!

William Watch 2011:Day 19! Finally, we will be meeting William very shortly either today or tomorrow. Mom-to-be Lia is going to  the hospital today to be induced. I wish my brother and sister-in-law nothing but the best of luck on this amazing journey ahead of  them, and I am so excited that I will see little Will within the next day. Wahoo!

Sunday's quote comes from American writer, Orison Swett Marden. I love this quote and I am learning more and more to think and act this way. We are going to face obstacles in our lives, it's normal, that's life. We just have to learn not to stress these obstacles, these challenges, these brick walls. Hey loves, Happy Saturday and Happy Fourth of July Weekend. I'm excited for a weekend of fun, relaxing and some great training runs. This is the first time in a long time that I am in New York on a Saturday morning with nothing going on. I am taking full advantage, enjoying an amazing cup of coffee my manfriend made for me, some SportsCenter and writing to you my awesome readers. It's the little things in life that I truly love the most.

Oh happy day! I'm so freaking happy it's Friday, I am ready for the holiday weekend. What are your plans for the weekend, I hope whatever you are doing, that you enjoy yourself. 

Last night was fabulous, I enjoyed a great dinner at my parents house with my sister and nephews. After dinner my sister came over to my apartment along with my cousins Jamie and Lyndsay, we enjoyed some wine, Skinnygirl margaritas, the Real Housewives of New York and some much needed catching up conversations. I love the bond I have with these ladies, it's something very special that I never take for granted and I only wish that I saw more of them. 

Today is a huge day for me, I'm meeting with the owner of the Secret Garden to talk about the possibility of me running Yoga by Meg out of their studio. I can't tell you how nervous and excited I am about this meeting, this could be a start of a huge chapter in my life. So fingers crossed it all goes well. I'll keep you posted for sure.

William Watch 2011: Day 17! Oh, Sweet William..Sweet...Sweet...Sweet Willy Boy, please come out to play! (Wink!) Mom-to-Be is now seven days past her due date, as of right now if nothing happens in the next two days, she'll be induced and it looks like William will be a little 4th of July baby. I knew he was looking to make a grand entrance, he'll be our little firecracker. I can't wait to meet you.

The lyrics are so powerful and exactly how I feel about life. Definitely check out her new album, it will surely not disappoint.

Hey loves, happy Thursday! Make today a fantastic one for you because like I always say, you deserve it more then you think you do. It's another gorgeous, crisp day in New York City and I plan on enjoying it's beauty after work by running my little heart out. 

This morning I'm enjoying the new Beyonce Album, 4 (Awesome by the way!) and a yummy coffee. I find some great music and a coffee are the perfect tools to aid in my writing. Which I never thought in my wildest dreams I would love to do as much as I do. Writing has really become a new found passion of mine and I thank you for reading my random thoughts, what interests me and daily experiences, it really means the world to me. 

Tomorrow is the big day ladies and gents, I am meeting with the owner of the Secret Garden, to talk about running Yoga by Meg out of her spa. This is a big moment in life, I am getting to the place I've been searching for and it's exciting, scary, nerve wracking and a bunch of other things. I'll be sure to keep you posted with how tomorrow turns out.

William Watch 2011: Day 17! Another day and still no William, this baby is being stubborn. We are now hoping for a July 1st arrival, which is tomorrow. July 1st was my awesome Uncle Tommy's birthday and he tragically passed away in 2009, we miss him dearly and it would be so cool if William could share the day with Tommy. So come on William, July 1st, July 1st, July 1st! I know Uncle Tommy will give you all the good vibrations you'll ever need and you'll be our little beach boy. 

Today's quote isn't so much a quote but more a list of secrets to a successful adulthood. This list comes from a great book I am reading by Gretchen Rubin called, The Happiness Project. My friend suggested this book to me, she said, "If you loved Bethenny Frankel's, A Place of Yes, then you must check out, The Happiness Project." Well, so far so good, I will definitely be writing a more in depth post about, The Happiness Project, as soon as I finish it up. 

I really dig the "Secrets of Adulthood" list Gretchen composed, it's a pretty simple way of seeing  things. When things get a little hectic in your life, it's nice to read things like this list, that put things into a clear perspective.

Good day beautiful bloggers and Jeans and Tee's and Travel and Cakes readers, happy Tuesday! I am back in New York after an amazing weekend in Chicago, now it's back to business as usual. I actually have some pretty exciting things going on this week, so I am thinking nothing but positive vibes. I hope you are having a great work week and still making some time to do something for you. 

Last night after getting home from the airport, vegging-out after the long fun weekend, I laced up my running shoes and hit the park. I had an amazing run, everyday I'm feeling stronger and stronger, mentally and physically when it comes to my training. Pardon my French but I'm really getting my sh*t together. 

As for the big things that are going on this week, tomorrow I am meeting with the owners of the Secret Garden, a hair and beauty spa on the Island. We are going to talk about me possibly using their yoga studio to run Yoga by Meg classes. I can't tell you how excited this makes me, to have this opportunity to run my own studio, and create a business at the age of 25. I truly believe that if you work really hard and are a genuinely good person, that great things will come back to you. I guess you could say I believe in karma.

It's back to work today and my usual routine, hoping these imposing thunderstorms in New York City hold off until late tonight, so I can get in a sweet workout after work. I'm also very excited because the Manfriend is picking up some furniture we ordered, our apartment finally feels like a home.

William Watch 2011: Day 15! Well still no William, I told his mommy and daddy yesterday that he was being a good nephew and waiting for me to get home, so I wouldn't look like that bad aunt who missed his birth. Mom-to-be is now four days past her due date and she's ready to go. Come on William, we all want to meet you so very badly!!! 

Today's quote comes from the cute romantic comedy, Letters to Juliet. I heard this quote last night as the Manfriend and I enjoyed this sappy flick as we were winding down from the busy weekend. This quote is a letter from Sophie (Amanda Seyfried's character) to Claire (Vanessa Redgrave). It could be looked at as a mushy one but I think you can look at it in other ways too, it doesn't just have to be a quote about two people who love each other. It could be about loving something, having passion for something and maybe life gets in the way which in turn puts your love and passions on the back burner. If this has happened to you, do everything in your power to get back on the track to your dreams, because no one wants to live with, "What if's."

I have been extremely blessed to find someone who has made it part of his priorities to see me follow through with my passions and goals. Kyle always pushes me to become that best self I am yearning to be, and loves me for being nothing but myself. I work hard to do the same for him, because in the end you know it's the real deal when their happiness in turn brings you happiness. Quote of the day.

Hey Lovelies, hope the week is going well for you. My Thursday is off to a great start, I woke up at 5am to get in a run in before work, this run was dedicated to a friend of mine who was an amazing runner who sadly passed away seven years ago today. It was really hot and muggy during my run but I dug deep, I thanked my friend after for getting me through the workout. It's runs like these that make me really feel like a badass athlete and make me so thankful that I get to go for a run everyday. Miss you Robbie and so do so many others.

 Because I was up so early, after my run, I got ready for work with tons of time to spare, so I ran some errands. Nothing better the being productive in the early hours of the morning. Now I'm enjoying an iced coffee from Starbucks and totally ready to conquer the day ahead.

Last night was a quiet night for me, and it's the quiet nights that do more harm then good. When I'm not busy doing something, it leaves me with too much time to think, my mind wanders through every thought and fear in my little head. I told you I'm working on being less of a worrier and learning to relax, but this doesn't just happen over night. Last nights worry was about my future, what am I doing with my life? Where am I going? These are common thoughts for most but they become magnifide when you have time to yourself to really think.

I've decided to listen to my heart, as cliche as that sounds. Because 98% of the time, following my heart led me to the right place. It's not the easiest concept to follow, I've dealt with my fair share of critics, when it has come to following my heart. But in my life, I am choosing to be happy, and of people have a problem or an opinion about that, then they have their own problems to deal with. (Had to get this off my chest.)

As I was saying earlier today is going to be a busy one, I have work, I have to finish shopping and packing for Chicago, since I leave tomorrow morning, and I am having "Ladies Night" at my apartment tonight. Keeping busy keeps you alive.

William Watch 2011: Day 10! Well it's Thursday the 23rd, the day I was hoping little Will would arrive, no sign of him yet. However, the day is still young so who knows, maybe an evening arrival. Because remember if he doesn't come today he has to wait until Tuesday, so I don't miss his arrival.

Today's quote I just love, it's by British novelist Jeanette Winterson. This quote is about taking risks and not being affraid to take chances. I guess this is the theme of day, taking risks, following your heart and living the life you want to live, because why the hell not. If you never take a chance, and always play it safe, you are going to have regrets. I'm choosing to be a risk taker, I'd rather know that I tried rather then wondering, "what if?"

Happy Wednesday Jeans and Tee's And Travel and Cake readers! I am enjoying a much needed coffee and listening to some Sara Bareilles, I'm feeling a little sleepy this morning. Last night after work I joined the Team in Training marathon team for a group run, it was just what I needed after a busy day of work. Like I said yesterday, running is my way of relaxing believe it or not.

I have a lot to do today, I have to pack for Chicago, run to Home Goods because I made a little blunder when it came to the mistake, because I felt very silly.) I also need a new phone, I've been putting this off for quite a long time but it is time, my 3g iPhone doesn't even work on 3g anymore which drives me batty. Sometimes I love a busy night after a busy day, it makes sleeping much more enjoyable.measurements of our window seat. (Thank god I was by myself when I realized my  And if you haven't noticed, I am trying to keep myself busy, because I am missing my manfriend. Can't wait to meet up with him in two days for a long weekend getaway in Chicago.

The most awesome news of the week is that my sister is coming up to New York on Thursday. I am so excited to see her, I decided to plan a girls night at my apartment. So my cousins, my sister and I can all hang out, relax and enjoy each others company. We don't get to do that enough. I'm not sure what I'm going to prepare for the girls but I do know that my sister is going to bake up something delicious. Yay, something else to look forward to.

William Watch 2011: Day 9! This Will Watch is getting long, now I'm having my doubts about a delivery tomorrow. If the little guy doesn't come tomorrow, I'm hoping he'll be a good little nephew and wait until Tuesday of next week to arrive. That's the selfish aunt in me that doesn't want to miss his arrival.

Today's quote comes from author Wilfred Peterson, I've used a quote by him before, I really dig his words. In life you have to choices, you can be positive or negative. I would hope our choice would be to live a positive life, I know this can be hard to be positive everyday of your life, and I don't expect you to be. I think if you are positive more times then not, that it is contagious. Be that person that people look up to because of your positive influence on their life, even if you're shorter then them.

Happy first day of Summer, my absolute favorite season. So much to look forward to, the birth of a new nephew, starting Yoga by Meg, my manfriend's 24th Birthday along with my Godson Jack's 6th Birthday, a trip to Chicago, our annual family trip to Long Beach Island and Cape May, competing in my first Half Ironman and waiting to see where the manfriend and myself will be living next year. There's a lot going on but it is all amazing stuff. I hope your summer is filled with fun as well.

 

 

Well Monday wasn't so bad, lets see how Tuesday treats us. It's already humid here in the city, yuck! I am so looking forward to a run after work today. There has been a lot on my mid and running is the perfect way for me to sort everything out, we all have our own methods. Tonight I am going to work on project, "Office Space". We have this great little room in our apartment and I think it will make the perfect place for me to work on my blog and other projects. It's really coming along and I think the manfriend is really going to love it.

 

I'm also excited because my sister may be coming up Thursday! This makes me happy that I'll get to see her and my nephews before I head out to Chicago Friday morning. I think you know how much I miss them on a daily basis, so to be able to spend the day with them would be awesome.

 

William Watch 2011: Day 8! No baby yet, my brother thinks mom-to-be will deliver little Will next week, while I'm still hoping for a Thursday delievery. Come on William Beckett, everyone is so anxious to meet you.

What's on tap for your weekend? I have to get in a run after work today, then I look forward to having a Skinnygirl Margarita, I feel it's well deserved after a stressful week. 

Tomorrow morning after I drop my  off at the airport, (He's going out to Notre Dame to run a basketball camp.) I'll be heading down to Cape May to spend some quality time with my nephews, sister and brother-in-law. It really bothers me that I don't get to see them as much as I would like. I hate seeing them grow through pictures on Facebook and Skype, maybe one day we'll all live nearby each other.

William Watch 2011: Day 4! No baby Will yet, I was with the mom and pop-to-be last night and they are doing great. I'm still pulling for him to get here this weekend, maybe a Father's Day baby! That would be quite the present. 

Today's quote comes from the movie, Eat, Pray, Love. This movie was made after one of my favorite books by Elizabeth Gilbert, it literally changed my life and gave me a way more positive outlook on life. This quote which is at the very end of the movie, gets me every time, after hearing it I want to go conquer the world, my world that is.

I want to go after my dreams, goals and ultimately become the Meggie that I'm striving to become. The Meggie that worries less, gives more, allows herself to be loved and give love in return. The Meggie that doesn't sweat the small stuff, that believes no goal is to hard as long as you work even harder to attain it. The Meggie that doesn't judge others because she has no idea what they are going through and what their circumstances might be. The Meggie that just wants to be better because there is always room for self improvement and she knows that NOBODY is perfect. If a quote from a movie can ignite that spark to be a better me, then I may have to watch that scene every morning for the rest of my life, to start the day off right.

Hey loves, hope it's a great Thursday for you. A big congrats to my Godson and nephew Jack, it's his last day of Kindergarten today! I am so proud of the little dude and I can't believe he will be in starting 1st grade in September. Also I am giving tons of hugs and kisses to my other nephew Benjamin, he hasn't been feeling so well the last few weeks, and I know he'll be back to his goofy little self soon. I love them both so very, very much.

William Watch 2011: Day 3! I'm beginning to sound like a broken record when I say, no sign of little Will yet. I commute into Manhattan with my brother every morning, and it's so funny to see how excited he is for the little man to get here, yesterday we debated over hair color, I'm thinking light brown. Hopefully we'll find out soon. 

I borrowed today's quote from my friend Nathalie, when I saw it I immediately told her that I'd be borrowing it. It's from an unknown author and it is freaking awesome.  It's a quote about how dreams are born and how journeys begin.
