New Goal in Sight.

On April 15th I was supposed to cross the Finish Line as a Paris Marathoner, but my body had other plans. I was sidelined from the race because of some kidney trouble and it became one of the toughest moments in my life, being kept away from the sport I love so much and not being able to achieve a goal I've worked 16 weeks on achieving was very hard.

These last few weeks gave me time to think as I was getting myself back to normal, my main goal was to get healthy. So I wasn't allowed to do anything strenuous, meaning no running, no yoga, no body rock workouts, I wasn't a happy camper. It did however give me time to come up with a plan, since I couldn't run 26.2 miles in Paris, I will achieve my own version of a marathon.

A new goal was born, I will run six races this summer that will equal the 26.2 distance, it may not be one straight shot at a marathon but it's my way of paying tribute to the distance that I love so much, so much so that I have the distance tattooed on my foot as a constant reminder of what makes me who I am.

I will make my racing comeback on Memorial Day as I will run the Staten Island Memorial Day 4 Miler Race, this will be my first race in Staten Island in two years. I will then proceed to run 5 more races ending mid July with a 5k and I'll have my 26.2 mile distance under my belt. I am very excited for this new challenge and I can't wait to start training my booty off to get into tip top shape to tackle these races. Wednesday begins my road back to running as I will hit the pavement for the first time in three weeks. It will feel really good to get back to what I love.

Race Schedule

Staten Island Memorial Day Run - Monday, May 28th = 4 Miles
NYRR New York Mini 10K - Saturday, June 9th = 6.2 Miles
Jeff's Run 5k - Sunday, June 17th = 3.1 Miles
Sunset Classic Run - Thursday, June 28th = 5 Miles
Pepper Martin - Wednesday, July 4th = 5 Miles
Ladder 5 5k Run - Saturday, July 14th = 3.1 Miles

It actually equals a distance of 26.4 Miles but you get the idea.

Some Rain, A Win, A Smile and A Giveaway.

Let's try this again...

My post was erased due to my stupidity, so this is take two of this post.

Hey there Loves, hope you are ready to embark on a brand new week as we say goodbye to April and welcome in the month of May. It's yet another ridiculously rainy day in Limoges, I guess they weren't kidding when they say April showers bring May flowers, since it has rained every single day in April. Ironically enough the weather report is calling for sunny skies tomorrow which happens to be the first day of May.

I enjoyed a lovely weekend, which was also full of some excitement. Saturday night I joined the other girlfriends and wives of Limoges CSP Players for dinner. As I mentioned in a previous post, Kyle was in Bourg for his last road game, where he and team CSP were on a mission to clinch first place. So while enjoying an amazing meal, we listened to our guys play. I got goosebumps when the announcer screamed that Kyle hit a deep three from 8 meters, I was so proud in that moment. Sure enough Limoges CSP was victorious and clinched 1st place, not only did they do that, they've also secured their spot in Pro A next year, which is HUGE! It's been their goal all year and to see Kyle and his teammates achieve that was awesome and very well deserved.

Today I am very proud to be a New Yorker, well I'm proud everyday but today a little bit more. This afternoon in New York, the Freedom Tower will become the cities largest building. It's a very bittersweet moment for New Yorkers. I for one still get emotional when the attacks of September 11th are brought up, as a New Yorker it is something you carry with you always, that feeling of vulnerability never leaves you. But today I will smile, because we deserve to, our city has been through so much and to see her rise and bring forth a new era is something simply amazing. I love you New York, forever my home.

Friday Favorites.

Happy Friday Lovers, hope your week went smoothly and that you are ready to enjoy a nice weekend. Kyle hits the road for his last away game of the season, so Wooden and I will be enjoying a quiet Friday and Saturday in Limoges. If the weather permits we might head up to Paris for the day on Sunday but the rain has been endless so we shall see.

Here are my favorite things from this week. Have an amazing weekend!

Enjoying a nice breakfast with my sister and John before they headed home to the States.

Love this guy.

Really enjoyed my morning coffee on Wednesday after Limoges advanced to the French Cup Finals.

On Wednesday Kyle and I celebrated 4 great years together. I've been so blessed to  have him by my side.

The delicious meal my sister left for Kyle and I to enjoy. She's the bestest!!!!

I had to wait for Kyle to go to practice to dress Wooden up. He is rooting for Limoges CSP to go all the way.

The Civil Wars
I fell in love with this band after I saw them preform of Good Morning America. Their voices are amazing and I love songs with meaningful lyrics. Definitely check them out, you will not be disappointed. Here are my two favorite tracks, Poison & Wine and Barton Hallow.

There's magic in the air.

Hey there Loves, Happy Wednesday. It is yet another rainy day here in Limoges but I don't think the rain could stop the people of Limoges from smiling today. Last night Kyle and the rest of Limoges CSP advanced to the French Cup Finals with an amazing victory over STB Le Havre.

It was such an exciting game and the atmosphere in Beaublanc ( Limoges CSP's Arena) was outstanding. I was so happy that my sister Becky and friend John were here in Limoges to see such a great match.

Kyle came up huge in the forth quarter hitting two big three's to help seal the victory. I can't tell you how proud I am of him and the rest of the CSP Team, they really put on quite a show. Now it's off to Paris on May 20th where they will play Chalon Élan for the French Cup Title.

Good Luck and Go Limoges CSP!

Monday Night Dining Out.

Happy Tuesday Jeans and Tees and Travel and Cakes Readers, make it a great one. Last night Kyle and I took my sister Becky and friend John out to Les Artiste for dinner. Les Artiste is our favorite spot in Limoges and I couldn't wait to enjoy a great meal, which was amazing as usual.

After dinner the owner of Les Artiste sent over some complimentary champagne and wished Kyle good luck for the French Cup Semi Final that he'll be playing in tonight.

I've really enjoyed our visitors and hate that they will be heading back to the States tomorrow. I'm looking forward to enjoying Kyle's game tonight with them in the stands and hopefully some celebratory drinks afterwards when Limoges CSP Advances to the French Cup Finals.

A Day Trip, VIP Treatment, Champagne and A Lazy Sunday

Hey there my beautiful readers, Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend and are ready to conquer the last week of April. You know the phrase, "April Showers bring May Flowers"? Well this phrase couldn't ring more true here in France, the rain has been endless, day in and day out we've been having continuous showers, which I am not a big fan of. I feel horrible because Kyle and I have visitors and it's hard to show them around France when the weather has been so soggy! However, we are making the most of it and I really hope our guests are enjoying themselves.

Since there was no edition of Friday Favorites this past Friday, here is a weekend roundup which included a day trip to Bordeaux, a Limoges CSP Basketball Game, some champagne sipping and a very lazy Sunday.

Stumbled upon an Antique Fair in Bordeaux, I was so in love with this sign.

Antique giant letters.

Wanted to send this couch back to the States. Love it!

A Traditional French Breakfast in Bordeaux.

Becky's amazing looking Chocolat Chaud aka Hot Chocolate.

Umbrella action for a very rainy day in Bordeaux.

Enjoying some shopping in Bordeaux.
